L'amour, un suicide du sujet

Janusz Kotara

« Au sens de Lacan, tout acte vrai est ainsi un “suicide du sujet” – mettons-le entre guillemets pour indiquer qu’il peut en renaître, mais qu’il en renaît différemment. Voilà ce qui fait un acte au sens propre : le sujet n’est plus le même avant et après ».
Cela vaut-il aussi pour l’amour ?

The Infinite Distance

Peichi Su

In his last seminars, Lacan will define love as the connection between two knowledges that allows each of the partners to “weave their knot.” Lacan will introduce a love that will leave aside the phallic mediation and will make a shift from love centered on phallic meaning towards the real of love understood as “the connectiveness between two knowledges.”

“The fiction that substitutes par excellence for what does not exist is love. I was saying that love — and this does not seem silly to me — is an anthropological constant. Someone argued that every man (in the generic sense, the exemplar of humanity) knows that he is mortal and knows when he is in love. Love creates an imaginary One, it isolates a single being — when you miss them, everything is depopulated …  Love has the property of isolating a One. Obviously, it is an ersatz of the really interesting One, the signifier One, but you are not in love with that one.”
