The family is the privileged place where the Discontent in Civilization is expressed.
Katty Langelez-Stevens points this out in her excellent argument for the PIPOL 12 Congress.
As a symbolic institution, the evolution of the family today is marked by a decline in the role and function of the father. The Oedipus complex no longer fulfills its dual role – the establishment of prohibition and the ideal.
As a result, families are faced with a host of challenges. In response, new modes of functioning are invented. Our congress will examine this pluralization of family configurations.
Family and its Discontents is a theme that concerns us all in our various professions: analysts, psychologists, educators, facilitators, therapists, nurses, doctors, teacher, lawyers, etc.
Today, we launch this call for contributions for the simultaneous sessions that will take place on Saturday. They will be primarily clinical.
